The name change

As from 1 January, we have changed our name from MAQS to NJORD. The reason is that MAQS Law Firm in Denmark and Sweden have agreed to divide the company into two. From 1 January 2015, the MAQS name will only cover the Swedish part of the company, while the Danish part will continue under the name NJORD together with our three Baltic offices.

The Nordic strategy

The division is due to the fact that the Swedish and Danish members of the management team have differing opinions on the future strategy. The Swedes have decided to concentrate on a purely national Swedish strategy, while we in Denmark will maintain the current - and successful - Nordic strategy, offering advice and service to our clients in all the Nordic and Baltic countries.

Business as usual

We will continue to perform jobs in Sweden - if necessary with the assistance of new or existing Swedish business partners, just like we will be performing assignments in the other Nordic countries. Thus, we will continue to function as a gateway to the entire Nordic and Baltic markets. A growing number of our clients demand this opportunity.

The name change will be of no consequence to our clients, and the Danish organisation will continue unchanged.

NJORD has offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen, Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius.
