Top-tier recognitions for NJORD

The Legal 500 EMEA 2017 guide is out with good news for NJORD Law Firm’s offices in Denmark and Estonia: One practice area is recognized as top-tier, and three partners are highlighted as experts in their field.

Recognized as a tier 1 practice, NJORD Law Firm’s Danish EU and Competition practice is recommended as ‘among the best in Denmark’ providing ‘a high level of service’. This puts NJORD on a par with other Danish top law firms such as Bech-Bruun, Gorrissen Federspiel, Kromann Reumert, and Plesner.

Moreover, NJORD is recommended as a tier 2 law firm within seven practice areas in Denmark:

In addition, Legal 500 did not fail to recognize NJORD’s strong Estonian Employment team headed by Partner Triinu Hiob and Partner and now a “Leading Lawyer” Katrin Sarap. Clients characterize the team as ‘trustworthy, punctual and solution-oriented’.

NJORD partners as experts in their field

In 2017, just as every year since Legal 500 compiled the first such list, Partner Thomas Ryhl is among the few to be named a “Leading Lawyer” within EU and Competition law in Denmark. He has extensive experience in cases relating to EU-based law and is a specialist in cases relating to pharmaceuticals, competition law, procurement law, and EU law.

For the fifth year in a row, Partner Ulla Fabricius is recommended as a “Leading Lawyer” with clients calling her ‘a true pleasure to work with’. Specialized in transport, shipping, and insurance, she advises both national and international transport and insurance companies on all matters.

Furthermore, in addition to the team recognition, Partner Katrin Sarap is named a “Leading Lawyer” by Legal 500 2017 as one out of only five Estonian employment lawyers. She has more than 15 years of experience in advising local and international clients on all aspects related to employment law matters.

Finally, the guide claims that ‘NJORD Law Firm hired one of the best financial technology lawyers in Estonia’ – a great recognition of IT and Tech Startup expert, Partner Anne Veerpalu, though she is yet to be officially recognized as an expert in her field.

NJORD Estonia explains: Reckless license agreement can wreck your brand!

As Estonia is gaining recognition for its successful increase of creativity, more and more brands are spreading beyond our borders. When noticing Estonian design in foreign airports or department stores, many of us Estonians feel impressed. But, be sure to register your brand as a trademark to ensure legal protection for your idea. Copyrights, trademarks, designs and patents can be registered both domestically and on a more or less global scale, and it gives the registered author the exclusive right to use his or her own creation in any way and to permit or prohibit the use of the work by other persons. In other words, no-one should earn money on your creativity without a license!
