Robert Mikelsons is part of NJORD’s Tax & VAT department He advises on and litigates matters relating to tax and duties law, including, in particular, VAT and international tax law. He is regarded as one of the country’s leading specialists in these areas.
For more than 20 years, Robert Mikelsons has continuously conducted landmark and value-creating tax and VAT cases before several levels of the courts, including the Danish Supreme Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union. In the field of VAT, he has over the years won cases with a combined value in the ten-digit range, and he has been used as a legal expert witness on EU VAT law before courts outside the EU.
In addition, Robert Mikelsons teaches courses in tax and VAT law organised by ‘Danske Advokater’ and others. He is a member of the Tax Affairs Committee within the General Counsel of the Bar, and at the same time he is a representative of the General Counsel of the Danish Bar in liaison committees Skatteforvaltningen (the Danish Customs and Tax Administration).
