What is a collective agreement?

Traditionally, a collective agreement is defined as an agreement between on the one hand a union or another employee association, and on the other hand an employers’ organisation or a company.

Your company can be covered by a collective agreement in several ways?

For example, if your company joins an employers’ organisation that has entered into a collective agreement with an employee association/a union.

However, your company can also be covered by the rules of a collective agreement, if you, in connection with a merger or acquisition, have acquired activities and employees, who were covered by a collective agreement, and you have not used the opportunity to renounce the collective agreement pursuant to the Danish Act on Employees’ Rights in the event of Transfers of Undertakings.
